you get placements today? doubt its your good friend, probably you. either way, gig has some good placement come PE time. Chem subdivision of GIG is rough, really long hours. Diversified does well, but automotive is subpar.

GIG is a big group - one of the two largest revenue producers at UBS. Large Morgan Stanley M&A and industrials alumni presence at the upper levels. Apparently the PE exit opps are strong. Solid 3rd year analyst opps if you're into that.

Cap Goods/ Transport/ Autos - Very solid in the league tables (top 3 in almost everything - competes primarily with Merrill and Citi). Banks GE and a bunch of big clients. Workload is medium. Clients are extremely varied in terms of activity and capital structure, so the work stays interesting and it's possible work on some unusual and interesting models.

Building Materials / Metals & Mining - Really kicking ass this year. Gets in on the biggest deals. Workload is medium.

Chemicals - Has the smallest headcount and will work you really hard. However, I hear the hard work is paying of for them and business is really hot right now.
