UChicago UG vs Booth in 2017

On this forum I see a lot of love for Booth, but very mixed reviews for the UChicago undergrad presence on the street. If Booth is so good at placing on the street, shouldn't this spill over to its undergrad recruiting as well? My question is really about overall opinions on UChicago as a target in 2017 as many of the threads I've read are from the 2007-2012 era (after some shift to pre-professional interests and away from academia) and how Booth alumni perceive and recruit/help their undergraduate counterparts.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Can confirm almost every single BB and EB come to campus for UG recruiting. Placement has been solid. However, many of the brightest kids usually opt for PhD programs/Econ consulting with others going to MBB. In terms of placing on the street, I can only speak to my year and can say UChicago is well represented at BB's. I have also noticed amongst the IB crowd that the smartest ones took EB offers (EVR/PJT/PWP/CVP/etc) this year.

Booth and UG are fairly separate so not much "help" or spillover when recruiting (there are UG programs such as UCIB/Dougan Scholars/etc however). As you mentioned, there does seem to be a shift away from academia to pre-professional interests. Rest assured, as a top 3 UG university you will have opportunities to recruit at almost every single top firm - how you place is on you.
