Ultimate Movie Debate
Ok guys, I love movies, and I love the world of finance and banking. The question is Boileroom or Wall Street? Which depicts the life better, and which movie is actually better? Btw if the only line you know from Wall Street is "greed is good", then watch it again.
Wall Street hands down, they even pay homage to it in Boiler Room...don't even think it's close.
Wall Street
Wall Street is a really good movie.
not even a competition
wall street is def. the best finance movie. blue horse shoe loves...
my ranking
if you work in sales, maybe - Glengarry Glen Ross, ABC - always be closing
Don't even try to complain about my grammar and spelling mistakes!
I think you meant "Rogue"...
Oops, my mistake. It's Rogue Trader - the nick leeson story.
Lewis needs to sell the rights from his book to Universal. I think it would go down as one of the greats...
But yeah, Wall Street hands down...
Wall Street hands down, Boiler Room was entertaining and all but let's be serious here...
You needn't look any farther than "director" on the credits to know Wall Street is better: Oliver Stone.
Plus Boiler Room had Vin Diesel and Ben Affleck, while Wall Street had Charlie Sheen, Michael Douglas, and John C. McGinley.
Ha, well put.. very hard to debate those.

Trading Places is decent as well.
It's a good movie, but no where near the level of WS or BR.
Gigli or Glitter.. it's a tossup
wall street is about so much more then just a deal, a portrial of charactors or the times in which it was filmed. there are so many themes within the movie that people in the industry (in particular those early intheir career analyst/associates) can relate to. not just the lifestyle, but also the moral conflicts that the characters go through as well as other themes like the fear of losing the yuppie lifestyle (i don't mean this in a disparaging way), adjusting to a shift in social status (working class to middle class), proving ones selve early in ones adulthood, seeing the father/son relationship develop int he context of the films other themes, etc... some of these side themes are common to both films, but i think that wallstreet handles this better. also, the suits are better.
GG : It's all about bucks, kid. The rest is conversation.
I heard people behind the entourage is developing a similar show for HBO about Hedge Fund types in the vain of Hedgehogging.
Actually, I'm kind of partial to "Batman Begins", of all things.
Do you mean Beteman Begins? "Bateman Begins-Official Trailer":
"Batman Begins/American Psycho Mashup:"
