Ultramarathon on resume?

Hey guys:

What would be your reaction to a candidate who lists ultra marathon on his /her resume? I’m kind of nerdy and thinking about rounding out my profile. (My other stats are ok but not great -regional target, mediocre social/leadership, etc)

Do it. I would be impressed and ask about it. As would many others is my guess.

You in a competitive space and need to stand out. This does it. It shows drive, dedication, athletisicm and something rare that not many do, so something to talk about in an interview and at work. Normal people run, play lacrosse, play violin or whatever. Not run like 100 miles.

Or you can leave it and just be another drone resume (qualified but meh) and leave it to chance.

I see little downside in putting it on there and talking about it (relating it to something in work or some trait highly desired in work). You would be surprised how often people actually ask about the personal/hobby stuff first and talk about it for the longest part of an interview.

Good Luck

I used to do Asia-Pacific PE (kind of like FoF). Now I do something else but happy to try and answer questions on that stuff.
