UNC vs Villanova vs Fordham Undergrad

So it's looking like I probably won't get into an Ivy for undergrad. Between UNC Chapel Hill, Villanova and Fordham, which one would you guys go to for the most opportunities in NYC? I know Fordham isn't in the same category as them academically, I only list them because of proximity to NYC.

UNC and Fordham would be free, Villanova would cost around $16k/year out of pocket. Also, I am an Army veteran, if that helps in any way.

So guys, which one would you go to if you were in my shoes?

UNC is a great university for banking, but I have also heard that Villanova gets looked at by good banks because of its proximity to UPenn though the extra money would probably not justify going to Villanova. Stick with UNC. I think its proximity to Duke has helped its reputation in terms of recruiting by good banks.

Nevertheless, look at past threads on this topic for more help.

UNC for free is a no brainer. Hell, UNC without being free might have been a no brainer. It's both the best school of the three and will give you the coolest college experience. Gorgeous women, solid social scene, decent football team, great basketball team, and much better weather.

You want to be in the Northeast? It's a probably a coin flip between Nova and UNC, I'd give the slight edge it to UNC since it's considered one of the best public schools in the country.

UNC is one of the best public schools in terms of banking recruiting. It beats Nova without question. Nova is a good program but it places very few kids in classic IBD roles each year. UNC sends dozens; each of the BB firms recruits there, and some of the EBs are starting to pay attention as well. There's also a strong regional recruiting pipeline to the Wells/STRH/Charlotte/atlanta MM firms as well.

I would be advocating you paying $16k/year to do UNC over Nova, so the fact that the financial circumstances are flipped makes this even easier.

On top of all that, it's a gorgeous campus where you'll get great weather, see some of the best girls, enjoy a really developed Greek system, and have great sports (football program is on the rise; basketball is legendary).

I am permanently behind on PMs, it's not personal.

Nice guys may not finish last but they sure don't finish first. Loyalty is not rewarded, it's taken advantage of.
