Undergrad Baruch or Fordham?
The only schools I've been accepted to Baruch and Fordham. My gpa was pretty bad until senior year where I got a 4.4 first semester with 4 Ap and 3 regular classes. I also have a 34 act and a 780 math 2 subject test. 2nd semester I plan on getting all A's.
Which school of those would give me the greatest Opportunites to break into ib and what other options are available to me right now?
Baruch is a lot cheaper, Fordham and Baruch are ranked at about the same levels so I would say go to Baruch. Either way both schools are non-target for IB so you'll have to put in major work to land an IB internship.
I don't think it matters which one. Either way you'll need to network extensively and catch a lucky break. You should go somewhere that you can get the highest GPA possible and then apply for a top MBA where banks actually recruit on campus (think T15 programs).
Neither. With a 34 act you should be going to a top school. Go to cc, kill it your freshmen year, then apply to top schools as a transfer student.
This.
What would be the difference if I go to baruch and end up transfering from there? Why cc?
I think both you will need to grind it out to get an IB gig. I've seen bb ibd people from both schools, but neither are targets
Undergrad: Baruch or Fordham? (Out of state, CA) (Originally Posted: 04/27/2018)
I go to a really competitive school in CA and I had a pretty bad gpa until senior year where I got a 4.4 first semester and plan on getting a 4.6 2nd semester. My act is a 34 and I plan on retaking to get a perfect score.
I want to go into finance so naturally picked schools that allowed me the oppounirity to break in. I got rejected by the majority of schools I've wanted to attend, leaving me with Baruch and Fordham.
I'm an Asian and the college application process was brutal this year.
Which school should I attend? I'm leaning towards Baruch mainly the price, but I heard it was a commuter school and without connections in NY I feel I would be left out, because only 2% come from out of state.
Seeing Fordham makes me not really appealed mainly because of the people there, not look exactly the most academic type, and the cost too is really high.
I have 3 days to make this decision, and if my goal is to make it into a BB, which school should I attend?
Go to Baruch and save some money, kill it for your first year and get a high GPA, then transfer to a better school.
Ty for your response
I've been looking at transfer rates and they seem really low
If I really wanted to transfer would just a high gpa matter, or is there something else I need?
Going to these kinda schools all the way from CA seems a little wild... Did you not get into any comparable schools in CA?
You'd save a lot of money going to a public school in CA and trying to break into SF or LA IB. You could even try then transferring to UCLA or UC Berkeley after a year or two
