2019 FT Analyst recruiting timeline - Real Estate
Hi, I'm a rising senior at an elite liberal arts college (think Williams, Pomona) with a STEM major. I worked in a merchant banking group at a family office this summer, and am looking to take my buy-side experience to REPE, development, owner-operator investment firms, REIT, etc. Hoping to cast a pretty wide net to find an Analyst job.
I was wondering if anybody is aware of the normal recruiting timeline for these types of jobs for undergrads - I know IDS in LA recruits somewhat late (~December, January), and that now (August) may be a bit too soon to start looking, but would love insights on when peak recruiting season is. Also some color on the best way to find analyst roles would be great.

I do not have good input on timelines for undergrad recruiting, but I do have a good tip.
Tip: Get an idea of what market you would enjoy living in, get to know analysts/associates in the market, and ask them if they know any headhunters who work that market.
I landed my dream job 2 months ago when a headhunter got in touch with me. It was for an analyst position. I am with a smaller PE firm ($3B+ in assets, but most of it is class A office, so the $3B does not require a lot of man power). The firm does not have any HR/recruiting team, they just tell the head hunter what they are looking for. The head hunter hooked me up with a couple different interviews in PE/Development.
I had another head hunter message me through linked-in with a position at an endowment who was taking their RE investment in house, I sent that lead on to as many of my buddies as I could. I see linkedin job postings from the recruiter who got me my job all the time now. If you start talking to analysts/associates, they will more than likely know who is hiring and who you could talk to.
Can you PM me the recruiter?
What city?
Texas, Michael Page is the recruiter, some have found they operate outside of Texas. The recruiters can be obnoxious, they are a glorified middle man, but one who still has a role today. Treat them well, they are the gate keepers to some good roles.

repe-hopeful, sorry about the lack of response. Maybe one of these topics will help:
Or maybe the following pros can chime in... feeguy World-Domination Andrew-Sinclair
If those topics were completely useless, don't blame me, blame my programmers...
