University Student Looking for Advice
I am currently a junior in university who has taken what I believe strong steps to break into either the private equity or investment banking industry. I have had internships in boutique venture capital and private equity firms as well as corporate finance over the last 2 years and currently have an internship for the upcoming summer working with bonds at an Asset Management firm, along with a strong GPA (3.7), extracurricular activities and volunteer work. However, I have been unable to gain any traction when applying to larger private equity firms or investment banks. I have one more year of university before graduating and was wondering if anyone had advice that might allow me to bolster my resume or distinguish myself from other candidates and get recognized by bigger firms as I look for a full time position.
Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated.
