Unknown French quant hedge fund
Hello fellow apes.
Have any of you heard much about "Capital Fund Management" in Paris? They have $7bn AUM and their board consists of a bunch of physics PhDs and engineers. Apparently their strategies come from the field of "econophysics", which seems to me to be reminiscent of the scientific approach utilised by Renaissance Technologies.
Do you guys think CFM's any good?
Yup ! It the pioneer of HFT in France. Traditionally, The boss, J-P Bouchaud (i invite you to see his lecture, research papers) recruit PhDs from top engineering schools (i.e : Ecole Polytechnique, Ecole Normale Superieure). Most of the strategies are based on Market Microstructure. Today, they are also bring Alternative Data to enhance some strategies.
