Up and down undergrad academic performance
I think I have an average undergrad GPA of 3.46 (below average for class profiles of top MBAs), and there wasn't really any upward trajectory in terms of improvement. I passed many of my classes with A or A- but I did slip up from time to time with an occasional C (two official C's) and a D. I also failed a class in community college out of pure negligence. How strongly do adcomms look at these individual marks? Is there a way to steer their focus away from it and more towards an otherwise strong candidate profile? I've managed a 760 GMAT and passed CFA I & II, for what it's worth.
As long as you find a way to pass the resume check and the interview stage, they don't give a shit about your GPA.
I was under the impression that MBA admissions is not like recruiting on Wall Street. I would've thought that they look at your resume for more than 15 seconds, and a part of my resume would be my undergrad GPA.
Any other thoughts?
