Upcoming Superday
I have an upcoming superday for IBD at a BB.
I do have a few worries. I took a financial modeling course through BIWS, which I indicated on my resume.
I am going back over the course to make sure I can talk about DCF's, LBO's, and Merger models.
However, I am very afraid they may ask me questions which were never covered in the course.
Do you think they will go far too in-depth regarding technical questions?
If so, what is the best way I can prep and be ready to answer these questions?
I am only a Sophomore by the way.
If you didn't previously work in banking, you shouldn't expect questions that are too difficult. If anything, it's more about UNDERSTANDING the basics, since you will be expected to answer variations as easily as you answer the typical guide questions. If you get an extremely intricate LBO question wrong, it probably won't work too much against you.
BUMP! I would like answers about this too.
If you're so concerned about having to answer tough questions, don't put things you're not prepared to talk about on your resume. Even if you get grilled and don't know how to answer, say "I don't know, but I think I'd solve it by doing this" and it will be okay.
you're way ahead of your peers. Since you're a sophomore they're gonna ask you mostly fit questions and then some basic-medium level technicals depending on the bank. Nobody expects you to have in-depth modeling experience as a sophomore other than blackstone
