UPenn (CAS) vs. McIntire
What is better to get an IB internship/job Non-Wharton UPenn or McIntire. I am planning on transferring from Swarthmore and need some help. Any other suggestions would be helpful.

Career Resources
I would say McIntire only because its a business program. Non-Whartanians (proper?) have broken into Banking in the past, but I would imagine it being more difficult because Banks already have a pool of more relevant applicants in Wharton. This is my personal thought.
I would imagine that prospects in the major US cities would be about the same, maybe with Penn having an ever so slight edge. However, if by any chance you want to work abroad, the Penn name without a doubt holds much more clout.
Partner in Crime, do you go to Penn? Are you a recruiter for Ibanking? If not then why are commenting on something you literally have no idea about?
I am in CAS at Penn, but I really don't know much about McIntire. I do know a number of people that transferred to Wharton from UVA after their freshman year and that you also have to apply for McIntire after your Sophomore year at UVA so you aren't gauranteed a spot.
That being said, CAS students have almost just as much access to OCR as Wharton students and many, many students get banking jobs out of the college - it basically just requires a high GPA and having taken a few Wharton classes to show interest - if you are interested I would suggest taking a look at this link http://www.vpul.upenn.edu/careerservices/undergrad/reports/CAS_2010cp.p…, which gives statistics on how many people got jobs at which firms and in what industries - you will see that there are quite a number of CAS students in financial services and consulting. If you can find a similar document for McIntire I would suggest looking at that as well.
Did you even fully read my post? Why don’t you do that before you go off spouting off? I made it clear that I was giving him my outside opinion. See key words:
“I would imagine it being more difficult" "This is my personal thought."
Never once did I state nor imply fact. Stop running your mouth and try and help someone as I was trying to do.
You said you don't know much about McIntire; Well I do. That’s the reason I posted in the fist place. You have one POV, I have the other. So what is the difference between you posting and I? Exactly. I’m ending this meaningless conversation as it’s unproductive, continue alone if you like.
OP read here: McIntire is quite difficult to transfer into though typically is accepting 30-42 applicants each term just so you are aware. McIntire is highly respected as is UPenn overall. All else constant, you shouldn’t be as worried about which of these two to attend as much the other far more important aspects of the recruiting process. Penn undeniably has higher prestige and more alum contacts, but the truth is both have near similar opportunity of placing you into banking. They are both target schools so at that point it is up to you to impress at whichever you get into/ select.
Thank you guys. I would apply half way through my sophomore year then apply to McIntire as a student. I have heard that as a UVA sophomore it is not too hard to get into McIntire. I do not want to risk the UPenn rejection from Wharton and know that I can transfer into the CAS so that is on the table. If I am wrong about getting into McIntire as a student already attending UVA please correct me.
