Urgent Help Needed RE: Final Round Interview
Here's the scoop:
I am currently working at an accounting firm and have been here for about six months. I have realized that this job is definitely not for me long-term, and have begun to assess what I want to do. I have fished around and sent in a few resumes and have also contemplated going back to school. I was a finance and accounting major in undergrad, and have a high level success and interest in finance even though I am in accounting now. My dilemma is that I have just found out I have a final round superday interview in NY at a middle market bank next week which, as many of you know, coincides with a large deadline in the accounting world. What do you guys think I should do? Being a quitter is not in my nature and I would hate to bail out before a deadline, but knowing this job isn't for me long term and really wanting to break into banking and finance and get out of this accounting gig make it inevitable that I will be in new york come next week. I just need to figure out how. Thanks for the help and support in advance.
It's just an interview not a job offer... and in this environment, I wouldn't recommend quitting with nothing to fall back on
Try to make up a believable excuse to your firm? It could be a life-changing career move if you do well in the superday
