US Regional Boutique Recruiting (International)

Any advice on how to go about this? I've managed to get a few SD's at BB/MM firms but unfortunately I come from a non-target school (I'm a US citizen living abroad so I don't go to school in the US). I really want to break into IB and I think working at a regional/micro boutique would be my best bet. Any advice on how to approach this (especially given my background)?. Also, assuming I have to relocate (which I'm willing to do), would a boutique internship even pay enough to cover me moving to the US for the 10 weeks? Any advice appreciatied

network like you would normally. Also, if you really want to break into IB in US, you honestly shouldn't care about the short term costs like that for a SA cuz you'll probably make something like 15-25k over the summer, and that should be more than enough to cover, and even if it isn't, you'll make a good amount your first year onwards so just look at getting that foot in the door.
