Using the same email or application will be overlooked?
I was making accounts on the BB sites for the upcoming recruiting season, and came across CS, which stated that if you applied to something with them before, you need to use the same account or your app won't be looked over/considered.
Last year I applied to a couple of BBs (other than CS, nor were my applications fruitful), but the emails and passwords were all different, so I wanted to standardize my email and password across the BBs. I couldn't find on any other BB that you need to use the same email, so is CS the only one like this, that you need to use the same email as before?
If anyone who works in the BBs, especially in recruiting, could answer this that'd be awesome.

bump. would like to know as well.
This honestly concerns me. My application for Credit Suisse is still "being assessed for a potential duplicate." Meanwhile, the recruiting process continues to go on...
Yeah, I think CS is the only one that cares from what I've seen - I believe GS makes you create a new account and others don't care. Did you make an account with CS previously?
Nope
Hey brother, I also encounter the same problem. Last year I applied for some BBs, but I extended my graduation to 2019 so I hope to apply for BB one more time. But I am not sure whether to register a new account (new email, phone number) or still use the same old account. May I know your recent update? and so grateful for any thoughts you would like to share. Thank you so much!
I think it ultimately doesn't matter for banks other than CS - I know Goldman makes you make a new account and UBS you can use the old one (probably preferable to use a previous account anywhere you can, as it shows interest)
Thank you!
If I want to apply for summer again this year (already applied last year), can I use same account (email, application account…) (Originally Posted: 07/08/2017)
I have applied for investment banking summer internship last year, but failed to get an offer. So I manage to graduate in 2019 and would like to apply for IB summer again this year.
In most investment banks' career website, I have set up an application account (my email, phone, personal data, etc.).
I wonder when I apply for summer this year, whether should I use the existing account or set up a new account using different email, phone number?
want to know this as well
Email Alias when applying to jobs (Originally Posted: 05/26/2017)
I was wondering whether upon applying to IBD graduate positions, should you include your university email (e.g. uni.edu) or a personal email (e.g. gmail.com). Also, if you have previously applied through the recruitment profile with one email alias and have been unsuccessful and you apply again with the same alias, will it have any negative impact on your application?
University email
I don't think it matters which one you use, provided your personal email isn't something inappropriate.
In my opinion it would be a big negative for you to apply twice using different email addresses, it comes across as sly.
IMO you should use your personal email as you want it to remain active even after you graduate and some unis will give you a different address when you become alumnus
Applying to same firm/company with same account (previously rejected) (Originally Posted: 08/08/2017)
So, in light of the upcoming recruiting season, I've started to widen my net beyond just OCR. In doing so, I've started to submit online applications into employers' job portals. My questions is: when reapplying for a position at a firm that has previously rejected you, should I create a new account for my new submission, or should I reapply using the same account? I've been using the same account, it makes it easier given that I have the same email (school) - however, I was wondering if this is held against me?
Interested in hearing ya'll's thoughts!
Same account. They likely will not notice.
Appreciate the response man!
Using a year-old account for 2018 SA applications? (Originally Posted: 07/14/2017)
So I applied last year for 2017 SA positions and were largely unsuccessful. I have extended graduation so I have another shot at 2018 SA.
My question is if I can use my old accounts for the BB's for 2018 applications? Will it be to my detriment, if HR sees my failures last year?
Thanks!
Also Interested. I was in the same boat as you.
bump!!!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Use a new updated account.
if i make a new account with a gmail, instead of my school's email account, would it be to my detriment?
I'd use your old email address - they can track your interest through that
