UT McCombs vs Georgetown McDonough vs IIM Ahmedabad India

Dear reader,
I have been admitted to UT McCombs, Georgetown McDonough and IIM Ahmedabad India.

My past experiences have been in a global power equipment manufacturing company working across Budgeting, Product Development and Strategy over a period of 5.5 years.
Post MBA, I wish to work in Strategy with a global player/ technology (product) start-up.

I have the following queries:
1) Which school is the best option?
2) IIM-A is considered the best school in India, and amongst top 5 in Asia. Is it a better option for long term growth across global market?

You feedback will be of immense help to me.
Thank you so much!

regards,
Rahul

Hye GuyFawkes! Greetings!

Staying in India or US is really not a priority for me. I am trying to explore the long term global opportunities that I can get in my preferred domain. You said that IIM is well respected by those who know it. So, is IIM Ahmedabad considered a notch above McCombs or GT?

Thanks for your feedback! - Rahul

I wouldn't say that it is considered a notch above the other two in my book; they are all very good school. The IIM name carries much less recognition (especially outside the Indian Community) in the USA so it is more likely to be overlooked here. Abroad (Europe) as well, many more people know American Schools than Indian ones.

it depends on if you want to keep your chances in USA. If you wanna go back to India, IIM probably has more alums? (check yourself). The American schools simply cannot match that very far.

But if your game is to stay in the U.S., or if your plan may change DURING MBA to stay in the USA, then the US programs gives a huge leg up.

It'd be a pain to have US and India as your school/recruiting locations, vice versa.
