I was under the impression Stern is a no brainer comparing to UVA for a career in finance, am I wrong?

Darden placed 15-16% in IB by function same as Cornell.

Thanks for the data. I think it's also critical to check out the number for international students and the number for big names. In the current political climate, it's very important for internationals to score a big multi national bank in case there's no luck with H1B. You gotta estimate your odds of getting into the institutions that can do the transfer-relocate trick.

you shouldn't have a problem getting into a solid bank from either school so i'd probably choose on fit/scholarship (if any) here

Thanks. But does Darden have a global recognition like Stern? Cause I know I might end up going back to my country.

i'm not really the person to ask here as I didn't attend either school and haven't lived outside of the US for an extended period

I'd personally choose Darden. They had perfect placement for all domestic applicants pursuing careers in investment banking last year. Yes, Stern has location preference, but other factors including the cost of living, quality of teaching at Darden and the strong sense of community should be factors when both schools place well into investment banking.
