Valuation Questions
I am in the midst of interviewing with a bunch of BB's and have found there are two major types of valuation questions. The first and most basic are simple, surface "tell me" questions. For example "tell me" a few ways to value a company, tell me what a dcf is, tell me how to calculate wacc, etc. These are quite easy as it requires no understanding of the concept. The other types of questions I have been getting are the ones like imagine a company announces that its future cash flows are more volatile now than they were before. How does this affect the company's value? Basically, questions that hold all else constant but manipulate one variable that changes the company's value. Could people post examples of questions like these with answers? I find that these are the most difficult types of questions as you have to consider so many different effects.
For ex)
Q: How does increased risk in the company's cash flow affect its value?
A: Higher discount rate__> thus lower present value
Thanks
