Value of an MBA
While the value of an MBA in PE has been covered in great detail, are there any intangible benefits of having one to move up in a MF organization? I'm personally from a non-target that broke into IB and I recruited on-cycle and ended up getting a MF PE associate offer. I'm currently in banking and I see a lot of different backgrounds for the senior team. However, it looks like almost every partner at the MF has a MBA from H/S/W. The MF allows people to move up to VP without an MBA, but will my academic background hurt me in the long run if I want to have a longer-term career at the organization?
