Value of Full Time experience vs. Intern experience

A recent post regarding boutique salaries got me thinking about my current situation. I am currently getting my MBA from an evening program while working and also doing an "internship" with a local tiny boutique shop.

My question is how valuable would fulltime experience from now to 2012 be compared to an internship in the same timeframe. They were thinking about bringing me on fulltime but since I currently make about 90k with bonus annually I dont think they wanted to pay that much as it comes directly out of their pockets. Their struggle is that I would not be a revenue generating employee since I would work in an analyst capacity. My argument is that they source more business if they didnt have to worry about the things I could take off their plate. Does this make sense to anyone but me?

The post I referenced earlier made me think that even if I had to take a pay cut to approx 40-45k annually (half of current pay) and then try to get out when I graduate it would be worth it in the long run if I could leverage my experience to go elsewhere. I have a friend who is a director at a MM bank and he says the fulltime experience plus a MBA would be "worth its weight in gold".

Any thoughts or advice on my situation would be greatly appreciated.
