Vandy, Hopkins or Emory?
Which has a better rep on the street? I have got a free ride with all three for grad school or should I shoot for better?

If it's business, definitely Emory. If it's other, probably Hopkins.
Nice job man on getting a free ride.
I want to make a point here about the eternal debate concerning the prestige of schools. As long as you don't attend some low-quality state school, it jues doesn't matter. People need to begin to understand that what matters is not attending a prestigious school, but getting into contact with I-Banks. Therefore, whether you attend Emory or Stanford just doesn't make a difference at all, because we (and, I guess, most of our competitors) recruit at both schools? Why do so many think that attending a top 5 college is any advantage in the recruitment process compared to attending a top 20 school? It just isn't. So, for reputation matters, it just doesn't make a difference whether you choose Emory or Hopkins.
No. It's more nuanced than that. I doubt Lazard recruits at Emory, but I bet they recruit at Stanford. Emory is not a Michigan/Wharton/Harvard/etc.
Also, you aer wrong; the debate isn't about prestige. Michigan is not as prestigious as Middlebury, but Michigan gets WAY more IB recruiters, etc.
One of the benefits of going back to business school is the networking opportunities. The caliber of the people you will meet at Emory will differ drastically from the people you will meet at Stanford. While your educational experience and recruitment may be similar, the networking component is not as prevalent at schools like Emory.
So Emory and Hopkins get the most love. Vandy is so-so? but recruitinglad666 has a valid point. I doubt that they toss Emory or Vandy grads overboard.
i worked at a top 5 bb last summer and we had 0 analys from emory (100+ summer analysts)
Well...where did some of them come from? And are you saying that there were none from either of the three schools I listed or just Emory?
wharton, harvard, michigan, uva, princeton, yale
no emory, no vandy, no hopkins
that surprises me. I would've though at least a couple came from either one of the three.
my analysts class of 120+ last summer had 1 from each of those schools. i also know a few emory grads who now work at Wachovia. i would probably choose emory if it were me. it's pretty well respected by banks such as wachovia and b of a.
hopkins is a bunch of nerds, vandy is real souther, emory has hot bitches
Emory has all big-nosed, ugly, Jewish Long Island trash
Talk about hateful stereotyping
He's right.
By the way, what kind of grad program is this? Everyone keeps talking about 'analysts,' but as the OP explained, he is not going to be an undergrad.

^^^2006 investment banking analysts for one BB (US only including US regional)
1 harvard? Hmm I can list multiple harvard grads in 2006 at GS, MS, CS, UBS, Lehman, ML... must be JPM?
UCSB USF U of Minnesota Stony Brook Drexel Colorado College Whitman
I admit that there are a few omissions (not on purpose). The Harvard thing confused me as well, but it is representative of one of the firms you listed (not JPM).
i just double checked my analyst class facebook and we had 2 from vandy, 3 from johns hopkins and none from emory.
both have hot bitches....vandy probably even hotter than emory, although much easier to get into
I would go with Vandy. Hottest girls with over a 1400 SAT you will ever meet. Although it's not a target school for every bank, GS, ML, DB, BAS, Wach, Barclays and half a dozen boutiques receruit on-campus (there I probably some more like JPM, LEH but not sure with them now).
One of the good things is that since everyone is thinking about how to make something better than a paint party or what they're wearing for the CEOs and Office Hos party, competition is not too stiff. If you have > 3.5 GPA and a wealth mgmt internship, junior year you're guaranteed an interview at every bank on campus.
