VC website similar to "KIVA"?????
Does anyone know if this exists already:
A website created to provide viable micro-loans to operational small businesses. Similar to the micro-loan site "Kiva" in that loans could be pieced together from many small amounts and many different "lenders". It would give people at home a way to create a valuable investment, help small business owners, and risk only a few hundred bucks.
I've searched online a bit but couldn't really find a site that helped bring personal lenders together with businesses in need of small loans. Most of the places that were remotely similar involved making a payment to the websites fund and then the website would choose which companies it wanted to invest in. Im talking about a place where each individual can choose to contribute to any qualifying company that makes it onto the site.
Sounds like a great idea.
Let me know when you get it up and running...
they have website like this, can't remember off hand what it is though. I specifically remember reading an article about one in particular a while back.
prosper.com is one i think - any peer-to-peer lending site kind of fills this void.
