Venture Debt Exit Opportunities

I'm reviving an older question. The original question was the following:

"I have an interview with a venture lending/venture debt financing firm (think LightHouse Capital or ORIX financial). This firm also invests in equity albeit a much smaller portion. My question is how is the experience a place like this viewed? What kind of exit opportunities are available? (ie. VC or PE). Expected salary for someone with 2 years experience in IB? Thanks for your help."

I have an opportunity to work in this space, but I am not clear about any possible exit opportunities (Obviously, venture capital is one). I've looked through WSO forums, but I haven't found anything material.

I had an internship in venture debt and the top guys all told me exits to VC are pretty hard b/c you dont actually have any operating experience and mostly just look at your debt. Not to say its impossible but venture debt guys tend to stay in venture debt (which is a pretty solid place to be at anyways if you can do well)
