VP said I'll get a 1st round, but haven't heard back since... What to do?!?!

A VP I networked with responded to me last week after i asked for advice on getting an interview, and she said an associate (she's introduced me to him before when i visited the office) will reach out next week or so to set up a 1st round interview. its been a week and this week's almost over and haven't heard from the associate.

i have the associate's business card from meeting with him at the office, so i'm wondering if i should reach out to him myself? if so, do i say something like "can i get some advice on how to best position myself for an interview", or mention that "the VP told me you'd reach out to set up a 1st round and i'm wondering when that'll be". also, i don't wanna message the VP again and snitch on the associate for not reaching out to me yet, so not sure what's the best way to go about this.

i've been patient waiting for the associate to reach out for the 1st round but things are moving fast and don't want him to forget and let it slip through the cracks. this is for 2019 IBD SA btw.

would love to hear from older guys, current associates/VPs if there are any on this thread. thanks

thanks. how would i phrase it? should i mention what the VP said in the email?

i've never emailed the associate before. i talked to him for 20 mins at the office and that was it (about his experience etc., the usual stuff). so how do i transition from "i enjoyed speaking with you" to "don't forget to set up my 1st rd interview"

Wait another week. The associate and the VP are likely busy with their full-time jobs - which is doing deals.

Recruiting is a second or third priority, so it’s reasonable for things to go dragged out. Late August is a time when people usually take their vacation, so maybe that’s the cause of delay.

Regardless, when you do reach out to the Associate, just ask that you’re gently checking in on the process and are looking forward to the interview mentioned by the VP.
