Wait or Play the Game?

Keeping it short. I'm a sophomore, pretty sure I want to go into commodity trading (energy). I am interviewing for investment banking right now, and know they are great for career mobility, but frankly, do not want that lifestyle. That being said, if I receive an offer should I take it/is it ok to turn down an acceptance later? My main problem is IB Houston starts now but trading would probably be next year and since I want to go commodities a BB rotational program isn't what I'm looking for.

Gotcha - so you're asking does it make sense to go thorugh IB recruiting as a back up to getting a phyiscal commod trading seat? Yeah you can do that - if you renig on a BB offer you're never gonna work at that BB again (you'll burn some bridges) but won't hurt you too much if you really aren't interested in that space so go for it.
