Waiting for final round decision. Should I phone?
Hi,
I've been a user for many years. Just created a new account to make sure I remain in anonymity.
I am a second year MBA looking for full time gig in AM or ER. I did the last round interview with a bank for a ER role 10 days ago. I've been waiting for the decision and decided to call HR last Thursday to check if there was any update. She told me that the decision should be made last Friday (17 May). It is Monday and they haven't contacted me yet.
I think the MD I would be working for loves me, but I also think I blew the interview with the Head of Research, so I might be dinged and that is the reason why it is taking so long. I think they probably made an offer to another guy and they're waiting for him to sign.
The problem is the following: I've doing an internship for the last 11 months in a small (and unknown outside my home country) fund and they have offered me to continue for the summer period (almost impossible to convert to full time).
Should I use this "offer" as an excuse to call back to the bank and tell them I need to know the decision because I have "an offer" from my current internship fund?
Thanks in advance
