Waiting on an interview and job I applied to went back up online
Got an interview with what would have been my potential boss. It was almost like an informational interview both ways. I fumbled a little bit because I genuinely don't use my brain at work, but I took a note of the areas I fumbled for my next interview - easy technicals ad motivation questions. Let me back track now. During the last steps of the interview I asked an interviewing process question. From reading the situation, it seems the interviewer took it kind of as a presumption that I thought I'd get another interview. Either way things turned out well, as potential boss wanted to set up a phone call with me, them-self and their own boss.
I wait and follow up after not hearing anything. I wonder if this is a covid thing given the good vibes and being told another interview will come. Unfortunately, I am told that people are sick and boss's boss is sick too.
Ok. I understand interviewer is in a difficult situation, so I write to them something along the lines of: Thanks for getting back to me. It sounds like you're in a difficult situation, I'll just chill and wait until I hear from you. I said I'd wait to hear from them and I didn't want to pester them, but now I wonder if they might have taken it the wrong way since the job posting for the same job went online again. I didn't want to have to reach out every week since the situation could take a turn for the worse.
I'm thinking it could be that they thought I lacked interest, they decided to see if they could find more qualified candidates since they were going to be delayed anyway, or someone quit and another position opened up, but I really doubt it is the latter. Also, I was exceptionally polite and well wishing and I don't know if a little too much.
Given that I said I'll wait to hear from them, I think I should really wait to hear from them. Does anyone disagree?
Online job postings are often bought with a subscription so they get reposted every week or month.
This. HR automates that shit with LinkedIn or Indeed.
Should I reach back out and reiiterate my interest? We're going on 3 weeks now.
yes, always follow up. next time, be sure to ask if it's alright if you followup within X timeframe so they get the sense you keep promises
