Walk me through how to prep for on-cycle

Incoming analyst at an EB (starting in 2022) from a school that sends very few people into IB and basically no one into PE.

What is the best plan of attack with regards to preparing for on-cycle PE recruiting? Would appreciate detail on how you all prepped - which specific resources you used, what order did you do them in, how much time you spent on each resource and what it looked like over time, did you network? Etc.

Thanks in advance!

What group are you going into? What are you targeting MF?

Honestly I think there is sort of an element of figuring it out on your own. There are threads on people’s processes that shed light on dealing with head hunters, some prep, etc.

I don’t think anyone is going to tell you (and frankly you should really figure some of this stuff out on your own) what LBO model to practice next week, then the next one to do after that. I’m sure your bank will have a drive of practice models/resources, and if not I’m sure a senior analyst will gladly dump all their stuff to you.

Obviously not expecting a week to week break down here just haventseen as many guides compared to IB recruiting and which resources to use. It was pretty clear that everyone used Rosenbaum and M&I400 to prep for IB recruiting but I’m just unsure which courses/guides/books are best to use for PE

I agree with the guy above. I get that you're concerned and want to be prepared, but to be blunt with you, you have to put in the work. Not calling you lazy because if you’re going to an EB you're definitely not, but it starts by doing your research and using the resources available to you. There’s no cookie cutter plan that someone can provide that will guarantee you some MF PE spot or anything, unlike in banking, and it also varies by individual. There’s a ton of very similar threads on WSO as this, and also many helpful guides/reviews/reflections posted on here.
