Walton Street Capital

Does anyone know anything about Walton Street Capital in Chicago as far as entry-level salary, culture/lifestyle, etc? I know they hire Asset Management out of undergrad and sometimes some in acquisitions. I imagine they are very selective.

My group worked on a couple of projects with Walton Street. Overall, I would say they are one of the more professional PERE groups.

As far as I can tell, they value IB-type (analysis heavy) exp in their new hires, which is pretty common for legit PERE groups. Comp I am sure is market. Culture/lifestyle is typical of PERE: laid back. I don't know how selective they are but they def have a "mold" which may or may not have been intended.

^^Not exactly a Vault Guide Insider profile, but that's the best I can do.

The UNITE HERE hotel union specifically. And note that the union's targeting of Walton Street has very little to do with WSC itself, but rather with the personal hospitality investments of Neil Bluhm, WSC's founder and one of its managing principals. Ironically, Bluhm is a massive Democratic donor and Obama fundraiser. I agree the whole thing is amusing.

wow. that's a nice find.

I know, right? And in their defense, they do a pretty good skewering WSC. Clearly hired someone relatively sophisticated to pinpoint certain weaknesses.
