Want to go into trading at a BB, but what should I do this summer if I don't get an internship?
Firms I've applied to:
BAC, MS, UBS (interviewing), C, DB, BNP, DRW, JS (rejected in 3rd round)
I was late to apply to:
GS, JPM, WF, BarCap, CS, Jefferies
Some companies reject me automatically in the screening, because I'm not an undergrad like RBS.
I was late to apply, because of a major family health issue. I don't know if there's others I should apply to? My goal is to land a job at a trading desk next year full time. I will graduate with a MS in Math in December. I'm thinking I want to do equity options, but I'm open to all kinds of trading. Not interested in sales though. I am a registered equities trader at a prop shop and I'm net positive since I started in 2012. I trade equities pretty much everyday so I understand a lot of terminology already. I've also taken courses in financial math and derivatives pricing. I really want to break into the industry, be the first in, last out, work the 80 hour weeks, learn from great traders, and gain the knowledge I need to become a great trader myself.
