Want to study international business, but need advice
Hey
So recently I've been revising my previously adamant attitude that I have to go into consulting and have been considering working in business, but on an international level. I don't know why, but somehow the idea of travel, something I used to hate, has now really sparked my interest. In fact, I think there's a really good chance I might move to Asia when I'm older instead of living in the US. But I digress.
The point is, I have a really keen interest in international business, but need advice on a few things:
-
My main areas of interest in no order are economics, the IT industry, and finance. I'll be upfront and say that money is a pretty big deal to me. I don't want to be middle class (aka when people say, "oh you'll live comfortably"). I want to be fairly rich (at least 6 figures, but ideally 120-150k+). I know, I'm a bit shallow. The thing I'm worried about is that if I pursue this that this goal won't be attainable. So what are the jobs in the international sector that can offer this type of salary. I understand that there will always be competition for these jobs, but if possible, what are ones that aren't incredibly difficult to break into (i.e. I-banking type jobs where very few make it).

What would be an ideal major combination: Economics + Language, Economics + CS, or CS + Language. I like the finance/econ sector probably a bit more than high tech, so Econ is probably necessary, but can having CS give me something that Econ won't skills-wise? Also I think I also want to learn another language (such as japanese or mandarin) to help me. But what would be best for me to major in to get a good job on the international level? Also, can one still enter the high tech industry with an econ major?
thanks...and sorry for the long post.
