Warning: Be Careful
As I'm new here, I just wanted to remind everyone to be very selective about whom you listen to on forums like this. Many of you are using information found here to make decisions (no matter how big/small) about your careers, which you shouldn't take lightly.
People have no way to credentialize themselves, and clearly not everyone on here is/was in the industry.
Be picky about the advice you take - people on here owe you nothing and they may be geniuses or idiots - you'll have to decide for yourself.
Rant over.
If you seriously want advice from someone on here then establish their credentials first....
Personally I wouldn't rely on anything in here. I get the feeling that about 10% of people here actually work in the industry.
From the ghetto....
Exactly. I don't need advice. I'm here to help others, but I think others believe everything they read...
they need to display the person's status right next to the username, instead of just in the profile

True, I'd take advice on here lightly. I also think helping others is great, but so many people come on here and say outrageous things like Bear TMT is number 1. Pink shirts make you a homosexual. etc, asking to get clowned.
Agreed. I mean i think back and i probably wondered about a lot of the same things these kids do, but being careful about whose advice I took to heart really helped me be successful (so far).
There is no right answer anyways... some choices just may be wiser.
I took the other Tier 1 Bulge instead of GS because GS didn't offer the product group I wanted. I went because I was interested in M&A. Most people would call me stupid. However, I enjoyed my experience, stayed a third year and got into a very respected tech PE fund.
