My goal is to breaking into investment banking and work in USA.
Princeton is really hard to get an admit and is too quantitative. I'm more corporate finance oriented.
Other ones are target - non target - semi target in US?

Are you set on IB? If so, steer clear of UT's MSF program. They explicitly said they want to avoid being a "direct-to-banking" program. In fact, they went so far as to tell me that if that's what I was interested in, consider not attending there.

I don't have any direct opinion, but they have one of the top MSF programs. Look on LinkedIn to figure out where alumni go. I remember speaking with a graduate of that program who worked at Barclays, I believe (don't quote me on that). However, if IB is what you're shooting for, it's a good program. Also look into Vanderbilt.

Vanderbilt is only worth attending tbh. WUSTL IB placements are like 5-8%, most go to AM. A lot of them are recruited by WUSTL's own AM fund for the duration their OPT just to make their placements report look more attractive. UT MSF will soon be STEM designated which gives you 3 years OPT. I don't know what the person above was talking about but they do routinely place into banking, though mostly domestic and UT's own students who did their undergrad there. The salary for International students is below the average for domestic students. It's like 55,000 while domestic is 60+ so keep that in mind. I got the 2016 placements from Lainey Corliss.
Amazing reply Isabella thank you so much. This is a good point. Vanderbilt seems a valid option, and I've seen they place really good. The same for Villanova, a good program with a fine placement in NY/PHIL etc.
As a 3 year bachelor (EU study system) owner am I eligible to apply? I have IELTS and majority of these uni requires TOEFL so I have to retake it. And costs are really highs. tbf Is a big bet on the future so I have to be sure of what to expect :-)
Yes, you can apply. I had 3 years UK hons degree and I was fine. However, you will need equivalence for Villanova and tbh, it's not worth attending unless you get the fellowship. The placements are okay.
By the way, I attended an accounting program (USC MAcc) because the placements into big 4 for international students from MAcc programs were easy. Over 90% international students were recruited (50-60% by big 4 from my cohort and all in the US, mostly west coast). I plan on working in audit for a few years and then lateraling to TAS and then IB. So you still have that option as a safety blanket ie attend an accounting masters because they have better placements(it's easier top place them). And grads lateraling from TAS to IB is not uncommon.

If you want to work in the US, chose vandy or UTA. If you want a job in Europe, is pick a program there.
UT is great, but my understanding is that it is true that the admissions committee does not want IB or bust students. 10-15% of each class still lands IB, but it's more that the committee understands that you need some prior relevant experience to get into IB and the UT MSF has been historically focused more on non-finance UG students.
There are definitely options for international students though, I know a couple folks that ended up in Big 4 TAS/Consulting and you can get looks from MBB if you've got a good enough resume. Definitely harder on the IB front but that's going to be an issue wherever you go.
If you really want IB, I'd go Vandy but I don't think you can go wrong with UT if you're not IB or bust.

I'm not sure who's gone MBB, I'm just saying that I know a couple people that interviewed with them and one of them is an international.
The UT brand is one of the best college brands as a whole, it definitely has a global reach. I spent some time in the Middle East a few years ago and I met three UT alums while there.
McCombs is also a really good brand. There are a decent amount of alums in NYC, and companies come to campus to recruit for NYC positions, but outside of consulting/banking (which you have to compete against BHP kids for) most of the positions are more corp fin related. If you're okay with staying in Texas, then you're set with anything you want.
