Yeah... that's not the stance Democrats take. Not sure why you even bother. Maybe some dumb opioid-addled hick will buy it, but not on this site.

Moreover, there is an obvious solution to the illegal immigration problem that exposes the venality and racism of the American right wing - just make legal immigration easier. No need to spend tens of billions of dollars to build a wall that does effectively nothing. Just make it so people who want to become citizens can, without a whole nonsense rigamarole. If current immigration standards were in place for the last 150 years, none of us would be here. Irish or German folks just had to get off a boat and that was that. Don't see too many paunch-bellied trailer trash in Oklahoma advocating for that, though, because very few Republicans care about illegal vs legal immigration, or the political/economic costs and benefits that might result. They just don't like Mexicans; whether they're from Guatemala or Colombia, it's an issue of race, not law enforcement.

Seriously though, at this point why do we need more and more immigration? How many people in the world, given the option, would want to come here? What is the upper limit to your "let everyone in legally" solution? Do you see any issues with this idea? If your answer is "muh GDP" or something on the statue of liberty then you're not even a marginal thinker at best.

We get it, you're a scumbag who hates heritage America and wishes those "trailer trash rednecks" ill, but all your rant did was illuminate you as a disgusting human being. Also, there was a reason for past immigration into this country that no longer applies, but can you name it?

There are so many things wrong in this post. This is what is wrong with democrats, you are whats wrong with democrats. You need to practice what you preach, you are a hypocrite. Get off your moral high ground.

Your paint all republicans as racist and venal, and just assume its the driver of every thought they have, without even thinking twice. You obviously have no interest in trying to understand a position outside of your own, as its easier to tell yourself "they are just racist hicks and thats were where their opinions are rooted, I am morally superior and obviously right," rather than critically thinking through their arguments and not resorting to name calling.

  1. You got frustrated when someone generalized democrats positions. Then put yourself on a high horse and say those kinds of posts don't fly on this site. Then you immediately go on to generalize the conservative demographic, and create a straw man for republican views for the remainder of your post using ad hominem attacks and arguments, and to a much worse extent than to who you replied.

  2. You call republicans bad people because, "They just don't like Mexicans; whether they're from Guatemala or Colombia, " Your post is riddled with ad hominem attacks, referring to conservatives as "dumb opioid-addled hicks," "paunch-bellied trailer trash in Oklahoma." How are you any better grouping half the country into a rude stereotype? You obviously have distain for Americans that live outside the city, how does this make you any better than the people you falsely assume have a distain for people from other countries?

  3. Immigration is an issue of race, not law enforcement? Im not even addressing this, this is just stupid.

  4. Build a wall that does effectively nothing? How do you think walls work? You referenced our country, but without laws and borders there is no country. What is your home built with? Would it be a home without out walls, do those walls designate "your" space and give a feeling of security, does it keep people out, do you get to choose who you let in and out? How do prisons keep prisoners the prisoners in? Second, the wall is a deterrent, if the wall is able to deter 85% of the people that would otherwise walk across across the border today, that is effectively something. Its not just to keep people out, its for drugs too. Guess where that, "dumb opioid-addled hick" drugs come from? Yup.

  5. Just because republicans don't agree with your fantasy obvious solution, they are immediately exposed as racists from your point of view. You say they don't care about legal vs illegal immigration, yet they are the very ones that are going out of the way to distinguish the difference between the two and want to separate the two subjects. You have it absolutely backwards, "very few Republicans care about illegal vs legal immigration". Replace republican with democrat. It is democrats that view legal and illegal immigration as the exact same thing, blur legal and illegal immigration, and create policy that view legal and illegal immigration as the same thing in the eyes of the law, but just want to eliminate the word illegal from our vocabulary, thus making all immigration legal and "easy".

  6. Taking care of the illegal immigration issue is key in enabling legal immigration reform, they are no longer being cut in line and having their spot taken. Makes legal immigration quicker and easier for everyone, just as you wanted. It is the furthest thing from racism. Guess who gets hurt the most by illegal immigration? Not me and you, but America's minorities and poor. Guess who else? Legal immigrants.

  7. Venality and racism of the right wing? Do a simple search on youtube, Nearly every prominent democrat has publicly voiced support for a wall prior to trump. But Venality? You do know Chuck Schumer was the one who put immigration up for sale with the EB-5 program, the one that lets foreigners write a check and get a visa, which has basically just been selling visa's to the Chinese at a minimum price tag of $500k.

Thanks for the monkey shit Ozymandia. Glad to provide the moral boost, you've been throwing shit at the wall all afternoon hoping it sticks. happy that at least one stuck when you gave me MS

Respect.

I agree. Also why I am dumbfounded to why Ozymandias post is marked most helpful, when it is by far the least helpful post here. The way I see it, he has the most to learn from your post.
