What is Wells Fargo Capital Finance?
Does anyone know about the WF Capital Finance division? The website describes it as asset based lending. It's part of their Financial Analyst Program alongside commercial banking, corporate banking, risk, etc. What are the hours, salary, exit opps for this position?
It's a group with divisions for companies that need much more specialized financial solutions. There's an asset based lending arm, every big bank has one of these. There also seems to be an arm that does junior debt and term loan b sort of stuff, many big banks are trying to establish these for companies with more complex capital structures.
That explains things somewhat - I'm curious, was this formerly Wells Fargo Foothill? And is this technically "buy side?"
inventories and receivables bro
Yes @blkmr it was formerly Wells Fargo Foothill and as just recently transitioned into what is now known as Capital Finance, which falls under the umbrella of Wells Fargo wholesale banking. I don't know if it is technically the buy-side, they have a syndications group which buys into other deals, however they are also left lead on a lot of deals with their own sell side syndications group. Then they have their own deals too.

Got offered a job with WFCF for their FAP (Financial Analyst Program). The program is specific to their Trade Capital division for 18-24 months of asset based lending and account receivables financing (to provide working capital).
For those who are familiar with the FAP program, what are the exit opps? I am also studying for the CFA exam: would it be possible to leverage this kind of analyst experience plus the CFA to acquire an Asset Management position doing equity research or portfolio management?
How did you find this position?
i networked through alumni from my non-target school
https://www.wellsfargo.com/downloads/pdf/careers/College_job_descriptio…
the position is a mixture of "Asset Based Lending" and the "Trade Bank" found on page 10
Dunno if this can get you to IB if that is what you are trying to get into...
Analyze MM companies and set up collateral agreements so they can lend to them??
Not trying to get into IB, but preferably asset management, working in mutual fund or private asst mgmt group.
the position is mostly credit focused, not equity focused, which is why I am worried i will have trouble switching. but there is still cash flow and other heavy financial analysis. i am wondering if these skills for 2 years, combined with a CFA, would help me exit into an equity-focused position.
bump? i have to make a decision by thursday
What decision did you make? I am in a similar situation currently.
BUMP.
What does the salary look like?
