Wells Fargo Summer Financial Analyst Program - Commercial Real Estate

Hey guys,

I'm semi-new here as I don't post much, but I have been around reading the forums for the past year and it's been a huge help. I am currently applying for the WF Summer Financial Analyst Program for CRE and was looking for some advice.

The job description of my career services website doesn't really include much info on what you would actually be doing as a summer analyst there. I am just wondering if there is anything specific that you guys think I should highlight on my resume in order to tailor it towards to the position? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance

Well, we don't really know what's on your resume, and I think it's stating the obvious to say, "highlight real estate and finance related experience!"

Generally for finance roles you won't have to tailor the resume a ton, try and get a hold of anyone in the group online via email or LinkedIn, have a conversation, and then tweak your cover letter to reflect what you spoke about.

Generally speaking it will vary based on your group and geographical location. I think you get the opportunity to spend time in San Francisco with all WF interns, not just limited to CRE, for a week of training. If deal flow is heavy within your specific office I'm certain you will assist with U/W deals and taking one through the credit approval process.

I interviewed for this exact position this morning. The first round was with HR and consisted of 4 to 5 behavioral questions and 2 "technicals"

"How would you explain the 3 financial statements to someone with no background in finance?"

"What are some things you would look at besides the financial statements when making a loan?"

"Talk about a time when you worked on a project and things changed during the middle of things."

It's for those graduating in December 2017 or May/June 2018. Undergrads. I'm pretty sure they have different programs for graduate students, but the tricky thing with most of the applications on WF's career site is that they will only be open for 24-72 hours depending on the program. For this one it was only available on February 7th (or 8th?) I can't remember the exact date.

Has anyone heard back about their first round interview yet? I had an interview about a month ago, filled out the location preference form, but still have not heard back from HR despite sending a couple emails asking about when the decisions will be made...

I had my first round three weeks ago. It was with a VP and she said that HR would reach out within a week or so, but I haven't heard anything either. Followed up twice as well

for people exiting the program, whats the goal? Will Wells offer full time positions for interns? Is the FAP program the next step after the SFAP? will you have to interview again or could you get a full time offer to return?
