What are my chances of landing a gig at some large BB/well-known MM firm?
I am senior (graduating in 2014) majoring in environmental science, but with a minor in business management @ a top-tier school (think of schools such as UCLA, NYU, Harvard, etc. the bigshots like GS, JPM, Moelis, etc. recruit). Although my background is in environmental science, I have managed to do a summer IB internship @ a lower middle-market IB firm specializing in small-cap TMT & pharmaceutical firms, another internship @ a boutique strategic consulting/merchant banking firm for Canadian stock exchange-listed mining/oil/nat-gas firms and currently interning @ well-known real estate brokerage firm (think of RE/MAX, Coldwell Banker, etc.).
there are so many more factors like networking skills, alumni base, GPA, luck, quality of resume, and many more.......
sorry, i have nothing to add... just found it funny that you would include UCLA or NYU in the same "top tier" category as Harvard.. especially at the undergrad level.
SB for beating me to the punch.
.
All I know is you definitely don't go to harvard. Willing to bank on UCLA.
there is no business management minor at harvard
We're talking about some pretty big jumps in ranking. My money is on NYU
Chances are good, especially since you've done internships. I've seen philosophy majors get hired at BBs.
Sup guys I go to target school(think Alabama/Colorado/Dartmouth)..what are my chances?
