What are the Cons of Quant Trading

I've seen a lot of posts on here about how quant trading is sort of in an uptick, with more banks and hedge funds looking to hire quants (quant traders and researchers).

However, what are some downsides to this career (aside from high turnover, stress, etc.)?

For instance, I read on one thread on this forum, that non-quant traders face the problem of non-transferable skillset, if they're fired, and often end up having to get an unrelated job in a different industry, where their prior skillset doesn't play much of a role.

Are there similar or other downsides to a quant career?
