What are the entry positions for Ph.D. graduates?

Hi, Monkeys!
I am finishing a Ph.D. in Economics and would like to start applying for jobs in IB. What positions am I adequate for? I've been thinking associate, mostly because the jobs are open for people with MBAs but no work experience, and that's closest to the place I'm at. But still, I'm not sure that's right. Anyway, I thought it'd be best to ask you guys.
Thank you in advance for your help!

If your PhD included advanced math and some python programming...then quant dev/research / quant trading / fixed income research would be viable paths. If you don't have those skills...go learn them on your own (shouldn't take you very long)...and these jobs pay well right from the start.
