What are the largest, highest-paying, "most prestigious" alternative asset managers focused on credit which aren't public?
Hi! I was just curious considering that Oaktree is now majority-owned by Brookfield and some of the biggest names in alternative asset management credit (GSO, Ares, KKR) are public. What other large institutional alternative asset managers (i guess like Bain Credit) are there focused on credit. Am I also wrong to assume that private alternative asset managers would pay greater at the senior/mid/junior levels considering more of the carry would go direct to employees, rather than shareholders?
Just want to better understand from a career perspective.
PIMCO (if you disregard ownership by Allianz ) then roughly by size would add Sixth Street, DK, Baupost, Anchorage, Canyon, CQS, Owl Rock, Centerbridge, Silver Point
some of the biggest guys - not answering public / private - invesco, CSAM, voya, symphony, Apollo, Carlyle, Franklin, octagon, Eaton Vance, Ares, MetLife, GSO, T Rowe, Babson, Angelo Gordon, Western Asset Management. that’s at least in the syndicated loan market
do you know anything more about Voya?
