What are the risks of sending your resume to lesser-known headhunters?

As the title stated, I'm curious to know what are the risks of sending my resume to lesser-known headhunters, specifically for buyside recruiting? I've been hit up by some headhunters that are not really the "core" or well-known recruiters for buyside. I looked their firm up and there is a website and they seem legit.
Some of my upperclassmen told me to just send my resume to as many headhunters as possible, because you never know who has which job available. However, I feel like since my resume has my address and phone number on it, I should be more cautious. Am I overreacting?
There's a difference between sending it to someone to Aurex Group (Houston-focused player, covers a lot of strategics and financials) or CarterPierce (LA-specific) vs. a PinPoint Partners. To be frank, the downside of sending it to as many HH's as possible when you're still in university isn't a huge deal. But giving it to someone like PinPoint when you have a job is potentially disastrous. They will spam your resume out to literally any morsel that has a potential for giving them a fee, doing it completely unsolicited in the process.
