What are you most thankful for?
I have never experienced true pain or loss in my life. I am extremely thankful for this but am aware that I will be put in a situation in the future that I am not mentally prepared for.

My parents... IMO your parents i.e. upbringing make or break you 90%+ of the time. For the most part, my friends that are doing well have good parents. My friends that are doing... meh... have shitty/clueless/not bright parents.
Good that you recognize this.
yup
Definitely this, not only cause of how they raised me but also for the sacrifices they made (left a war-torn country to move to the West with no knowledge of English and sacrificed any type of higher education to instead work crap jobs and save every penny for my education).
Kind of selfishly, I only recognized this as I got a bit older but am now working to give them the life they never had.
exact same thing with me man. I used to be such a little fuck wondering why my parents wouldn't let me go out and party in HS, and its only now I realize, at fucking 22 7 years later, the hardship they must have endured to give me the chance to succeed now. Thankfully they both have great jobs, but even if they didn't I would help them out in any way possible till the day they both pass.

Was seriously crippled with a random bad luck back problem for 7 or 8 years and then completely got 95% better for no apparent reason. I wake up every day smiling like Forrest Gump because of that. Really grateful because now nothing really bugs me, it's all a walk in the park compared to not being able to walk properly and being stuck taking opiates + Adderall to function.

JK aside, yes parents cannot be overlooked. They have such immense influence on your life.
My friends that are my real family. I grew up with such a dysfunctional family and upbringing that I never really got that feeling of blood family. My friends who have stuck with me or we lost touch and they reached out to reestablish are my family. When my family member died and I called to tell one of my close friends, I could literally hear things crashing around and him grabbing the keys and he was at my house in 10 minutes. I'll never forget that 10 years later. Some of those friends you lose, but all of them were meaningful and impactful along the way.
This is awesome, on all counts.
popping out in the usa
On top of this, popping out in this time period. Getting drafted into a war when I'm clearly not the fighting type? No thank you..
The last draft was.....?
I am most thankful that I truly live a peaceful life with no grudges towards anyone. While I am always striving to do better in all of my endeavors I am just at an amazing place in life where it truly feels like no burdens are upon me..
TL; DR... I'm thankful for it all, good, bad and otherwise.
Thankful for having parents that raised me dogma-free and that encouraged my curious nature. Thankful for some amazing friends that are very much the family I've chosen and more importantly, that have chosen to have me [are they crazy?! heh heh] in their lives, something that's truly incredibly humbling.
Thankful for an amazing man in my life who encourages me to be all I can be and isn't threatened by my bucket list of things I want to do and places I want to see, even when he doesn't share my passion, he never throws a wet blanket on my dreams and aspirations.
Thankful for the amazing opportunities I've had with jobs that I've hated as well as loved, along with the relationships and friendships that didn't pan out - every loss, every challenge, every let-down, every break-up... you learn things about yourself from failures and upsets [granted, almost always in hindsight, LOL!], as much if not more so than from the successes and good things.
I'm thankful for my good fortune, but one's mettle is truly tested when you are in a rocky relationship or a shitty work environment or some scenario that's unpleasant... and this makes you appreciate matters all the more when you find that job that's the perfect fit, when you find that significant other that's your perfect complement, when you find that crew of peeps that will cheer you on and support what you want to do with your life. Like the t-shirt says, "Life is good."

Moving to the US. So much more opportunities opened up.
Yeah we're bad at a LOT of things, but when you come here its sink or swim baby. The potential is truly limitless compared to any time in history.
Having driven parents and grandparents who wanted a better life for their kids.
Being able to move to the US. On that note, lots of people sht on this country but have no idea what sht really looks like. Their ignorance just boggles the mind. I'm not advocating for a relative standard, as I think we should strive toward an absolute, but at some point you just want to smack the daylight out of these clowns. Come live in EM (which, if you think about it, is most of the world), b*tch.
Innate as well as developed drive. Innate drive is there, by definition, but I think that parents, mentors, and the right surrounding can really kick it into high gear. This is critical because -- in general -- without drive, intelligence/creativity/knowledge etc. alone aren't enough.
Family. Faith. Intellect.
