What are your thoughts on the different paths I can take towards landing a job in PE?

Hello all, this website and these boards have been invaluable to me so far. I wanted to offer up my situation and see what thoughts people had about it. I am a senior ready to graduate from college this May and I am unsure what comes next. I have a 2.6 GPA from a non-target liberal arts school in economics. I have had one internship with a financial advisor that was cut short this semester due to covid19 and I do not have many connections other than my current boss. So, with summer approaching and limited tangible experience, I am considering applying to another internship as a college graduate. I think it will make me more competitive and potentially take me past the lack of job availability I am seeing due to Covid19. I have applied for a few internships with boutique firms because they are really all that is available here in Cleveland, OH. Some people told me to forget it and just keep applying for jobs, but I have been receiving rejection after rejection. Many tell me to apply for 2021 but not now. Anyway, as you can tell my resume isn't very competitive with a low GPA and nontarget school with limited experience. What do you think I could do to most prepare me for the job market. Thanks in advance!
