What banks hire graduating seniors?

Didn't land an IB SA position so I got lucky enough to get into asset management, but I'm still interested in banking for full time. I've been working on a solid network with about 10-12 firms. I got some questions:

  1. What banks are known for hiring undergrads (Have open applications online or are generally good for undergrad recruits through networking)
  2. When do SA's hear back about a return offer?
  3. How soon after extended SA offers will full time interviews begin

  1. All of them (BBs, some MMs).

  2. For most banks, the last day of the internship. May be a week after for some banks.

  3. After 5 weeks, banks will run a process to cover their FT needs for the next summer (if there is headcount to allocate). This is where your networking comes into play. Get in the door and perform to get the offer.

To follow up on question three, do banks determine their headcount to allocate more analysts based on coverage or product groups? For example, if there are two people needed in tech, 4 more in industrials, 1 more in M&A etc.

I ask because I'm interested in real estate and my whole IB network are real estate analysts and associates. I'm not sure what interviews would look like for me, but I'm hoping it will be focused on the real estate group.

Real Estate IB is so nuanced in its own jargon and methods so I'm focused on understand REITs this summer as opposed to normal companies.

Should I expect technical questions to be based on the group I want placement in or should I also focus on general IB technicals?
