What can I break into with a 3.4 at HYP?

So I somehow got into HYP because I was a strong-willed person. College has been hard. I've had depression for a while so it's been difficult to do schoolwork. I'm a sophomore now. I wanted to do consulting(McKinsey was the dream) but my 3.4 is clearly too low for that so maybe I could break into I-banking if I networked a lot? Recruiting for 2020 is happening now and I'm doing my best to apply to all the insight days and go to the events but I also don't have an internship for summer 2019 yet. I've applied to a couple I but just never hear back. Is there a place for me in the I-banking or consulting world? I have a couple of leadership positions(president) and am involved in some business clubs.

If you network really hard, investment banking at a boutique is do-able for sure. Consulting at a second-tier or third-tier place is still on the table. You can break into less popular career paths like real estate.

Don't listen to the clueless kid above. 3.4 from those 3 schools, you should be able to easily get looks from BBs and MBBs if you add some interesting extra curriculars to your resume.

If you have a 3.4 at a HYP anything is still possible. I had no issue getting looks and interviews from EB/BB with a 3.4-3.6 at a non-ivy target.

What's your major? IB shouldn't be an issue if you network and getting a T2 consulting gig is also possible.

When kids from HYP think a 3.4 bars them from a career path

But also how do you put up a 3.4 at HYP? That's like throwing a gutterball with the bumpers on. (kidding)

Re: consulting opps, OP, I know for certain of two guys in the last few years who broke into MBB with <3.5 GPA. It happens (probably more cases than the two I know of as well.)
