What can I do as an undergraduate to better prepare me for finding a job?
Hello,
I am 20 years old going into my second year at a top 100 national US school. As a transfer student, my credits are a bit odd so I am not a sophomore until after the Fall 2018 term.
I want to get involved with as many opportunities, events, professional visits, informational interviews, etc. as I can. It has been a bit difficult because I am not in my third year. I want to get started with it NOW, I know I am capable.
What can I do to meet more people in the industry? What questions should I be asking myself about what I want? Who should I be meeting? What should I be learning?
I don't want to wait until my third and fourth year to get started with this stuff, I'd rather do it now, and I have the technical skills. I want to work on my social skills so they are top-notch by the time I graduate.
Thank you very much for your time.
