What direction do I move now? Please help
Hey everyone,
I am a senior at a non-target, yet well known business school in Boston. I have a finance major, computer information systems minor, and am graduating in May 2019. So I am interested in a role in finance - whether FP&A, ER, PE, or IB. My GPA is around a 3.3. However, I got an offer for technology consulting at a small software firm on the outskirts of Boston. It pays very well (about 15k higher than entry finance), has nice benefits, and a start-up culture vibe.
My concern is that if I eventually want to move into finance, this role would prohibit me in the sense that it is not finance related. My internship experiences have been in corporate finance & accounting, and wealth management.
Please let me know if I should continue to grind out finance applications (no luck so far besides a BS wealth management offer that I rejected) and turn down this job offer or if I should take the money and try to leverage that Technology Consulting experience into finance / (maybe even Deloitte Technology Consulting?).
Thank you boys!
