What do Fall semester graduates do?
Hey guys, I am trying to understand something and I was hoping someone here could let me know. I started undergrad in Fall 2018, but i took Spring/Summer 2019 off of school (sports-related). I returned in Fall 2019, but now I am a semester behind. I expect to graduate in Fall 2022 now rather than Spring 2022. How do the banks view someone who is graduating in Fall rather than Spring? Is there any problem with that?
Also, for example, if you get SA *and * a return offer (that's two gigantic ifs) and then graduate the following Fall, what do people do while they wait for their FT to start? Pick up useless minor and stick around and party or travel? Or is there something more productive and career-oriented Fall grads typically do? Are there first year analyst classes or specific banks that cater to Fall grads?
I know this is all very hypothetical, but I was just curious if anyone had insight.
Myself and two friends graduated in the fall, and we each did different things:
I found a part-time internship (25hrs/week) in my college town and enjoyed my last “semester” with college friends
Friend A started his FT position early
Friend B travelled the US for a while and then spent some time traveling in Europe
I also graduated in the fall and did several things.
1) I went back home to my home town to spend time with my family 2) Interned for an online site doing SEO to make some money 3) Worked on my personal investing 4) Did some Europe travel
I had considered starting early at my firm and approached it with them and they said they didn't need the extra body at that time so instead I just focused on really enjoying myself overall, made my own schedule and did whatever I wanted. No regrets.
