What do you think of kids with connections?

Though not all, many of them seem to be unqualified assholes. What are your thoughts on landing jobs through connections? Do you think they ever deserve it?

Mostly everyone in finance makes their way up the ladder through networking and making connections. But if you mean kids who only get jobs bc their daddy's friend is an MD then yeah that kinda sucks for the rest of us who don't have well connected parents who can do the networking for us. That's just a hard reality we have to accept tho and not use it an any sort of excuse as to why we can't be just as successful as them even tho they had a huge head start

Question is so stupid…how would we decide whether a hypothetical person deserves a job or not. Newsflash: connections are vital to your career and you should make and use them as needed. Do you really blame the hypothetical person you're talking about for using their connections? This is coming from someone who is the first one to attend college, work in banking, etc. If I had those kinds of connections I would have used them.
