What else can/should I do?
The bad: 3.0 GPA
The good: 99th percentile GMAT
The rest: I graduated from Princeton. I have finance-related work experience but nothing in IB. I've taken a financial modeling course (Breaking into Wall Street).
I do have a good reason for the low GPA (it's not because I was slacking off) but I know most people will be expecting, and hardwired against, excuses.
I'm gunning for an analyst position at a boutique IB but I know the GPA is a major ding. Is there anything else I can do at this point to try to mitigate it?
Or maybe the question I should really be asking is: What are my chances?
There are people on this forum from very little known state schools with 3.3's and 3.4's breaking into ibanking. You should leverage your alumni base, network and present your case. I'm sure you can be successful this way.
Your gpa is pretty low, but given that you try hard and network your ass off I'm sure you will find yourself in an analyst position.
